Anjunadeep isn’t a name I thought I would ever write on this blog, but hey, the mix is by Demuir.
Anjunadeep and especially their parent label, Anjuna, are very much associated with my long-lost trance days of the late 1990’s and early 2000’s. As such it was a bit of a surprise to see someone of some house esteem, Demuir, do a mix for them.
But thankfully it is what I would expect from Demuir – an house of quality house music.
I first discovered Demuir thanks to his track, Derrick Does Disco, which is just a sumptuous piece of proper, almost funky, house music.
This mix is on that vibe, upbeat, occasionally funky – you know, proper house music before people like me started labelling things as 100 different genre offshoots.
Featuring tracks by the likes of DJ Sneak, Phil Weeks, Audio Soul Project and Demuir himself – this alone should give you a feeling of what to expect.
And the mix finishes on a proper high too.
Enjoyment rating of 7.70.
