Yowsers, I cannot believe this mix by Azim Fathi is 9 years old…how have I only just discovered it?

And that is despite following Deep House Tehran for quite a long time.

Born in Iran, I’m pretty sure Azim Fathi is now based in London though he has a really interesting back-story on putting on parties in Iran, not the easiest place to find house/techno music – and included a week in jail for him for the crime of putting on a party. Dastardly.

This hour-long mix has a style that definitely appeals to me, it veers through various on the edge of techno tracks, though never quite making it there – and much of it has a dubby, chuggy feel to it.

Enjoyment rating of 7.15.

I should probably check out some more recent mixes of his.
