DJ Mix Of The Week

You may have clocked that I like minimal. But Vedran Komm does something different – dark minimal.

I don’t know much about Vedran Komm – he doesn’t even have a Resident Advisor page. Possibly he’s just a home DJ/producer, or only plays local gigs – he’s a pretty impressive DJ on this showing for someone who doesn’t seem to be a professional DJ.

This mix is the darker side of minimal.

Think growling, bass-driven clickiness, occasional atmospheric suspense.

Maybe you could argue that the mood could change occasionally, but that isn’t really the point of dark minimal. This is one for dark, gloomy, January days – and it is rather gorgeous.
