This is quite a raw, almost ghetto-like house into techno mix – the kind of mix you might want in your ears if you’ve got some negative raw emotion that you need to get rid of.

There’s a certain frustration within the music chosen and the juxtaposition of the tracks – quite a lot of energy as if there is a feeling against the world – you could imagine someone mixing this after finding out Donald Trump had become president.

SHYBOI is not someone that I’d previously heard of – part of the increasingly prominent DISCWOMAN collective, and originating from Jamaica.

The mix strays way out of the normal boundaries of techno, with old-school trance getting an airing, along with a hardstyle track endearingly called “Punani”.

For those that like their house and techno tough and raw, but without the blandness that techno can sometimes have – a DJ not afraid to cut things up, maybe you should follow SHYBOI.

Enjoyment rating of 7.74 – not entirely my cup of tea but I definitely appreciate it for what it is – for me, for certain states of mind.
