Petre Inspirescu @ Super Dommune, Tokyo – 2nd November 2023
I cannot believe that I’ve never previously featured a mix by Petre Inspirescu.
Petre Inspirescu, occasionally known as Pedro, though probably better known as one of the member of RPR Soundsystem.
Petre Inspirescu was behind one of the key fabric CDs – and brave enough to do it with only his music, produced a really good mix for RA (albeit many years ago when RA actually had some music taste), and has published a fair amount of outstanding tracks; Evar, La Creme Bonjour, Sakadat, Talking Waters and Pacalit de Q – to name my favourites.
Yet I’ve never featured him. Granted, there are not many mixed out there by him.
The mix starts on quite a serious note, mixing from XDB’s dubby track, Blakpin, into Ben Kaczor’s Tohatsu it a fair statement of stark industrial minimal, but it doesn’t stay so, and reverts into something more chilled.
I don’t want to give all of the game away, but this is very classy, occasionally dubby and often warm mix from an absolute legend.
Almost every track played is bona fide genius, and this is a class hour of music.
Enjoyment rating of 8.39.
