Whoa, there’s a minimal techno DJ that isn’t from Romania – Jay Tripwire.

Jay Tripwire has been around for like 25 years in the DJ world, yet doesn’t get a massive amount of recognition over this side, of the pond, just doing his thing somewhere along the lines of minimal, tech-house or deeper house.

He also has a surprisingly large discography, considering how little his name comes up – Satompy and Treat Him Like are the two tracks that most come to mind, though I guess maybe I need to do a little more digging.

This mix clips along at a fair pace for an underground minimal-ish mix. At times a little haunting, sometimes growling, this rolls along really pleasingly with a mixture of emotions – by 45 minutes, I’m really into it and desperately Shazaming, to no avail.

My favourite part of the mix is probably the first part, though it stays solid throughout, and ends with a bit of Kraftwerk.

Also apparently he started the trend for DJs wearing black.
