Yeah I’ve been MIA for some months now, but I’ve had important stuff to do, like listen to DJ mixes – this time I’m recommending one by babyschön.

I don’t really know a lot about her, the Random Note notes that come with the mix suggest that she’s describes the mix as slow and sleazy, which I’d agree with and is probably why I’ve come to really like it.

The mix starts slow, as you might expect from the previous paragraph, growling through the realms of new wave and kinda discoish sounds.

Yokel’s A.S.V is a particular highlight for me – coming from a mixing background I always find it strange to find a DJ mix where a track is just brought in, played in full, and then the next one starts – yet it still sounds like a continuous whole. It totally works, and allows babyschön to play the full range of tracks she seems to enjoy, even if beat-matching puritans may not approve.

The tempo does pick up, remaining broadly in the electro sphere though tending more EBM, if still slow and sleazy. This is one cool mix.
